Bresnan built and managed telecommunications operations in three regions of Poland beginning in 1994 when it acquired its first cable systems in the City of Warsaw. From 1994 to 1999 the company acquired and/or developed numerous cable properties and built an advanced network which encompassed some 2,000-km of 450/750-megahertz hybrid-fiber coaxial ("HFC") infrastructure capable of carrying voice, video and high-speed data traffic.

Bresnan grew to become the largest cable television operator in Warsaw and the second largest in Poland, serving approximately 360,000 cable customers with networks that passed close to 734,000 homes. In Warsaw, the company constructed one of the largest single-headend broadband networks in Europe, which ultimately served 280,000 customers and passed 525,000 homes. In addition, Bresnan delivered high-speed data through its Warsaw network, making the company one of the first in Europe to offer high-speed Internet services via cable.

In northwestern Poland, Bresnan built and operated a broadband network to deliver voice, video and data. The company successfully launched telephony services via an HFC platform in two provinces. In order to provide customers with service as quickly and as cost-effectively as possible, Bresnan also used wired, wireless and local loop technologies. The company took the project from the licensing stage to an up-and-running commercial venture, marking the first implementation of integrated telecommunications service delivery in Poland.

In July of 1999, Elektrim S.A., a diversified Polish holding company, acquired all of Bresnan’s operations in the country.
